The 1st Middle East Business Leaders Summit and Awards was held at the Intercontinental Hotel and Resort Dubai Festival City in the vibrant city of Dubai, UAE, on the 28-29 April 2010. The event was organized by the Leaders Magazine Malaysia and managed by My Events International and officially endorsed by the Federation of Gulf Co-operation Council Chambers (FGCCC) and the Leadership Gurus Net in United Kingdom.
The event was aimed at recognizing excellent individuals across the Middle East regions for their outstanding and exceptional performance in their leadership roles. It also provided opportunities for development for new leaders and upgrades to existing leaders and encouraged the region's workforce to become better equipped with relevant knowledge in order to stay competitive globally.
Event was divided into 02 segments for the year 2010, the leadership summit on Day One Wednesday, 28th April 2010 which brought together some 60 targeted delegates from the UAE particularly, Malaysia, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The summit saw 05 international prominent speakers and trainers to share their leadership knowledge and experience. Among them were how to lead by example, how to monitor performances as a leader, how to realize that failures and mistakes are just one step on the road to success and how to recognize that being aware of the impact that one’s behavior has on other people is a critical leadership skill.
The highlight of the event was the Gala Award Dinner held on Thursday, 29th of April 2010 at the Al Bahara Ballroom at the Waterfront Level of the Intercontinental Hotel & Resort, Dubai Festival City. The Gala Dinner saw some 200 guests and distinguished invitees, sponsors and VVIPs present at the same venue. The organizer proudly presented the awards to the winners of their respective business and industries. The honorary panel of judges for the year 2010 was also honored with a special mention and memento presented. A total of 20 awards were given out varying from the Masterclass Category, Business Leadership Category and International Business Category. Winners came mainly from the UAE and Malaysia. The event, being the first time to be held out of Malaysia, had managed to gather some 18 - 21 new business leads and corporate contacts from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain
Overall, the event handling was carried out smoothly and positive feedbacks were received from the delegates and guests, looking forward for continuity in the year 2011.
